It is a novel experience to watch our first openly LGBTQ+ generations age, but with longevity come challenges. Simply put, aging doesn't look the same for everyone, and many of the risk factors for living in the U.S. as an LGBTQ+ person overlap with risk factors for dementia and other medical conditions later in life. Care partners in the community may struggle to serve family members who are not, or vice versa. When you add the complexities of a lifetime of families of choice, it becomes clear that traditional aging conversations will not fit everyone. All presentations combine the latest research with known challenges and localized resources so no care partner has to face things alone.

My most requested topic -- revisited several times a year -- I bring the latest findings into the community, along with legal, medical, and emotional considerations. Previously credentialed for Continuing Education for Social Workers, Nurses, and Counselors.

The formal versions of this presentation have yet to be recorded, but here is an informal conversation I had on the topic with Alzheimer's Association - Dallas/Northeast Texas in 2021.
