Who Is Our Audience?
Community Groups
Nonprofit organizations, civic projects, and local institutions: these collaborations tend to focus on educational programs that are available to the public or specialized to community-facing staff, but may also include facilitating anything from support groups to new coalitions. Your group need not be official or have a formal office. I’d love a chance to customize a topic for you, but you can get a great deal by ordering from my existing presentations.
Care Professionals
If your career involves looking after individuals or communities — especially caregivers and older adults — contact me about your professional development or capacity-building needs. Whether you’re looking to provide CE hours for Social Workers, Counselors, and Nurses or want to build awareness in a new way, I can be involved at every step of the process: grantwriting, program development, panel recruitment, outreach, scripting, staging, and of course program delivery. You can find videos of past presentations listed at my LinkTree.
Companies and Employers
I have been excited by the emergence of ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) for topics ranging from LGBTQ+ identities to Neurodivergence to Caregiving itself, but any business that asks itself how to embed its values throughout its work is encouraged to reach out. Not only can I customize a presentation to your needs, I can also advise your internal communications or outreach strategies from the inside. But don’t just take my word for it: check out these recommendations on my LinkedIn.
Active Care Partners
I am proud of how caregiving changed me, but it was a hard journey that I wouldn’t wish on anyone unprepared. Whether you are cohabiting or long-distance, part-time or 24/7, solo or part of a huge team, I will work with you to make sure you have the knowledge and skills you need for sustainable care that meets everyone’s needs. Check out my blogs for Caregiver Wellness Resources for some examples.
Academics
One of the most important parts of my work is staying up to date on caregiving and identity research and incorporating the latest findings into programs of every scope. I couldn’t do this without my nationwide network of other caregiving researchers and practitioners, so we are always looking for opportunities to share knowledge and advise one another’s work. Check out my Curriculum Vitae to view my articles and other contributions.
My work has often concentrated on community-facing nonprofits and civic ventures focused on educating the public about dementia care, LGBTQ+ aging, or identity research, yet these topics touch on every facet of society.
